Nehemiah 8:10 reveals that intrinsically, God has packaged joy as a vital booster for believers in Christ Jesus, empowering us to navigate life’s journey. Joy serves as a resilient staying power, enabling us to confront obstacles and challenges.
The joy of the Lord within our spirit activates inner strength, propelling us towards our divine mandate and God’s ordained purpose for our lives. Moreover, joy is a fruit of the Holy Spirit, as seen in Galatians 5:22.
Joel 1:12 reveals that without joy, frustration takes over. When joy is absent in a believer’s life, dryness, stagnation, frustration, and depression set in. However, Jesus gives us a different kind of joy, saying, “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full” (John 15:11).
The Bible emphasizes the importance of joy in our walk with God. Isaiah 3:10 says, “Say to the righteous that it shall be well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.” Joy is the key to accessing the well of salvation. Without joy, we cannot draw from this well.
It’s crucial to maintain and guard our joy, as the enemy seeks to steal it and frustrate us. Philippians 4:4 reminds us, “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!” The joy of the Lord is our strength, guaranteeing our access to all that salvation has to offer.
While happiness is temporary, joy is eternal. Joy is a choice, a decision to trust in God’s goodness and sovereignty. As you journey with us on this 21-days fasting and prayers, you are breaking free from frustration and stagnation, embracing the joy of the Lord as your strength in Jesus Name.
