Topic: DANGERS OF DISTRACTION.
Scripture: [Luke 8:14].
And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
BELOVED, HEAR THIS:
In yesterday’s devotional, I explained what distraction is, today, I will be sharing with you some of the dangers. The dangers of distraction are numerous, these include:
1:Spiritual Stagnation:
Spiritual stagnation occurs when a believer’s spiritual growth and progress come to a halt. This occur when such a fellow lacks enthusiasm for prayer and Bible study, lack of faith and trust in God, inability to hear God’s voice or sense His presence and feeling disconnected from God’s purpose.
This can make such a fellow vulnerable to temptation and sin.
2: Disconnection from God:
Disconnection from God occurs when believers experience a sense of separation or distance from Him. Being disconnected from God is a spiritual crisis that can have severe consequences on our lives.
There are so many things that can cause disconnection, these include: sin (Isaiah 59:2), neglecting prayer and fellowship, distractions and worldly pursuits (1 John 2:15-17).
Consequences of Disconnection:
1: Spiritual Dryness: Feeling empty, dry, and distant from God.
2: Lack of Direction: Uncertainty and confusion about life’s purpose.
3: Increased Anxiety: Fear, worry, and anxiety replace peace.
4: Fruitless Living: Lack of spiritual fruit and impact.
5: Vulnerability to Temptation: Openness to sin and destructive habits.
To avoid the dangers of distraction, stay focused on God!
